Weather Forecast
Look for a warming trend coming up. Sunny, warm, and a little bit of wind is ideal conditions. When the warming trend comes in, the wind usually follows with it. Follow the wind and fish areas where the wind is blowing into, which will hold that warmer surface water.
Bait choice
With the surface water warming up in some areas, the bass will like to suspend in the warmer water, which is the perfect scenario for using the Scout Jerkbait. When the water starts to get above the 52 degrees mark is where you will pull out the fast moving search baits like the Klutch, Banger, and Spinnerbaits.
Warm water Areas
Once you’ve found an area that has warmer water, you can start experimenting with Texas Rigs, Jigs, & Lunker Logs. Pick out areas of cover in that warmer water like trees, rock banks, and brush. These areas can be very successful in the afternoon as the temperatures are rising.
