Questions & Answers
Straight answers from the Squad on the Thicc Jig.
What is the Googan Squad Thicc Jig?
The Thicc Jig is a heavy-duty flipping jig for the thickest cover. Its pointed head cuts through brush, laydowns and matted grass, while a reinforced weed guard and stout Mustad hook help prevent snags and land big bass. It has a hand-tied skirt for a lifelike pulsing action. Each pack includes one jig.
How do you fish a flipping jig?
Flip or pitch the jig into cover like laydowns, brush, docks and grass, and let it fall on a semi-slack line. Most bites come on the fall, so watch your line closely. Once it's on the bottom, hop it a few times or drag it slowly before pitching to the next spot.
What weight Thicc Jig should I use?
The Thicc Jig comes in 1/4 oz with a 4/0 Mustad hook, 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz with 5/0 hooks, and 3/4 oz and 1 oz with 6/0 hooks. Use lighter weights for a slower fall around sparse cover, and 3/4 oz or 1 oz to punch through thick mats and get down fast in deep water.
What's the best trailer for the Thicc Jig?
A craw or creature trailer adds bulk and action. The Krackin' Craw, Rattlin' Chunk and Bandito Bug are all great choices. The Rattlin' Chunk adds a rattle for stained water, while the Krackin' Craw can be trimmed to the perfect length for your jig.
What's the difference between the Juicee Jig and the Thicc Jig?
The Juicee Jig is the do-it-all jig: its arkie-style head flips, skips under docks, swims through grass and crawls over rocks. The Thicc Jig is the heavy-cover specialist, with a pointed head, reinforced weed guard and weights up to 1 oz for flipping and punching the thickest cover. Choose the Juicee for versatility and the Thicc for the nastiest cover.
What are the best Thicc Jig colors?
Green Pumpkin, Rotten Pumpkin and Cowboy Craw look natural in clear water and around grass. Okeechobee Craw, PBJ and Blue Craw stand out in stained water. Black Blue is the classic choice for muddy water and low light, and Bluegill matches panfish around cover.
How fast will my order ship?
