The Drag n' Drop
Questions & Answers
Straight answers from the Squad on the Drag n' Drop.
What is the Googan Baits Drag n' Drop?
The Drag n' Drop is a finesse drop shot bait with a lifelike baitfish profile, built to get bites from pressured bass and offshore fish when nothing else works. Its segmented body quivers like a nervous minnow, and its flat bottom gives it a slow, natural glide that keeps it in the strike zone longer. It's infused with Slaunch Sauce scent and comes in 4" and 5" sizes.
How do you fish a drop shot rig?
Tie a drop shot hook with a long tag end, then attach a drop shot weight to the tag 12-18 inches below the hook. Nose hook the Drag n' Drop and drop it to the bottom near ledges, brush or schools of fish on your electronics. Keep the weight on the bottom and gently shake the rod tip on slack line so the bait quivers in place, or let it sit still. Most bites feel like extra weight, so reel down and sweep to set the hook.
Can the Drag n' Drop be fished on other rigs?
Yes. Besides the drop shot, the Drag n' Drop works on a finesse Carolina rig for dragging, wacky rigged, and weightless for a slow, natural fall around shallow cover. It's also a great choice for vertical fishing over deep structure.
Which Drag n' Drop size should I buy?
The 4" Drag n' Drop comes 9 baits per pack and is the finesse choice for clear water, small baitfish and pressured bass. The 5" comes 7 baits per pack and has a bigger profile for bigger fish and deeper water. Both come in a molded clamshell so the baits stay straight.
What are the best Drag n' Drop colors?
Baitfish colors like Natural, Murky Minnow, Morning Dawn and Green Pumpkin Pearl are top drop shot choices in clear water. Watermelon Red, Brown Gill and California Craw are great around the bottom and in lightly stained water. Sunset Bug and Sprayed Lettuce add color when the water is dirtier.
When and where does the Drag n' Drop work best?
The Drag n' Drop catches fish year-round and is especially good when the bite is tough, after cold fronts, and on heavily pressured lakes. Fish it around offshore ledges, brush piles and in open water where bass suspend or school.
How fast will my order ship?
